Wedding Planner Summer Intern

General responsibilities may include:

Assist the planning and coordination of meetings and events

Assist with communications around event management including Banquet Event Orders, timelines, and floorplans

Assist with onsite event management, set-up, and tear-down

Welcome Packets

Creating Databases for quick access for information

Blogs

Social Media

Intern will gain and/or improve upon his or her:

General communication skills

Understanding of inner workings events

Understanding and knowledge of executing Event Orders

Planning Meetings

Logistical Support of Special Events

Knowledge of conflict resolution and guest satisfaction

Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization

Understanding of special events and hospitality industry

General customer service skills

Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal, verbal (including phone work) and written communication skills

Basic computer processing skills including Microsoft Office, ADOBE, and Internet

Interest in Special Events and/or Hospitality Industry

College coursework or comparable work experience preferred

Preference will be given to college juniors and seniors and those seeking academic credit

Time: This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week on average); each week is different. We will have days in the office, and will have days where we are doing client meetings all day. Office days will be the time to create timelines, put together welcome packets for new clients, writing blogs, creating and updating databases, planning weddings, calling vendors for availability, creating floor plans, and assisting Ana (owner) with anything that needs to be completed. There is a mandatory weekly team meeting to go over timelines and anything that needs to be done for that weekends wedding. This is also the time to go over the previous weekend's events to go over any questions. On the wedding day we are there a minimum of 10 hours, some weddings do require more time depending on the package.

30-40 Week Break Down based on hours: (This will depend on the week and this is just an average)

10+ Wedding Day- Saturday and sometimes Friday/Sunday

1.5+ Rehearsal- Depends on Wedding Day

10+ Office Hours- Monday and Thursday

10+ Meetings and Networking- During the week
